FCC Industrial participates in the Technical Conference on Innovation and Technology in Port Management with the presentation of Optiport

FCC Industrial and PROES presented on 6 March at the "Technical Conference on Innovation and Technology in Port Management" the application developed by Optiport. The day, organized by the Technical Association of Ports and Coasts, ATPYC, PIANC, brought together different public and private authorities, as well as technicians and specialists from the port world.

The opening of the conference was carried out by the president of ATPYC, Francisco Esteban Lefler and Macario Fernández, president of the Port Management Committee of the ATPYC. The day was developed with the following presentations: "The policy of innovation in Ports of the State"; "Digital Transformation & Continuous Innovation at Algeciras Port"; "Platform for Integrated Supervision of the Port of Huelva. Safe and Green "; "Strategy of innovation in Valencia Port before the challenges of the next decade" "Building a Smart country: Ports and Smart Cities"; "Intelligent System for the Assessment and Control of Maritime Safety in Port Access and Operation". More about Optiport This management tool emerged as a result of the close collaboration with the area of technological development of the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras (Cádiz).

The application of simulation of the port activity is based on probabilistic methods for the support in the decision making related to the management and planning of the port and its resources. It is a reliable, robust and agile software that, by means of the integral simulation of the port activity, serves as support to the port managers in the decision making related to the management and planning of ports and their resources. The developed tool is based on a methodology that models the operation of the necessary elements to simulate the traffic of ships in waters and port facilities.

To this end, the ship and its immediate surroundings are considered, that is, the access channel, the navigation, maneuvering and anchoring areas and the ship-port interface, where goods loading and unloading operations are carried out, influenced by the typology of the terminal and the operative in the terrestrial area.

The software tool allows to simulate the traffic of ships as well as the services offered by the port and the influence that climatic conditions have on them. FCC Industrial has more than 25 years of experience in the area of information technology, designing, engineering and developing systems to offer a wide range of solutions in the industrial, transport, defense and infrastructure sectors.
