As part of its integration and professional reorientation campaign for personnel with disabilities, FCC Industrial has been incorporating people in this situation into its workforce for several years, reorienting their professional careers towards jobs compatible with the consequences derived from the accidents or illness that afflict them. caused the disability situation.
Knowing of a person on the staff whose disability derives from a work accident on site suffered in his previous company, the Health and Safety Department of FCC Industrial invited him to share with his colleagues his personal experience and the learning that this accident has entailed, with the aim of promoting a culture of safety at work among his new colleagues.
The awareness actions are having an excellent reception by the project workers, as they allowed them to identify closely with the situations that the speaker was describing to them, as well as with the risk situations that were identified. The colloquium format helped everyone to actively participate through questions, doubts, opinions, comments and spontaneous debates.
The perception of risk and the need to observe prevention measures, when told first-hand by a person who has suffered a serious accident, has proven to be a very effective way of raising awareness in the prevention of occupational risks.
