FCC Industrial wins contract to build a new photovoltaic plant for TotalEnergies and Soltec

FCC Industrial will build a new photovoltaic plant for TotalEnergies and Soltec in San Javier, Murcia, and San Pedro de Pinatar, Murcia. Luminora Solar Dos has a total installed capacity of 220 MW.

FCC Industrial, a company committed to renewable energy, will be responsible for designing, building and operating and maintaining the solar project for two years. This project, which represents an investment of more than £135 million, will supply 114,000 homes annually.

The new plant, called Luminora Solar Dos (San Pedro-Murcia), will have a peak power of 220 megawatts (MWp) and will reach a total production of 400 GWh/year, enabling savings of more than 108,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.

In addition, FCC Industrial will be responsible for building a 30/220kV HV substation with a 180MVA transformer, as well as a 220kV overhead transmission line with a length of 18.5 km, to the Promotores substation, the energy delivery point, to evacuate the energy produced at the solar plant.

This new contract is in addition to other FCC Industrial projects in the photovoltaic renewable energy generation sector. Specifically, FCC Industrial and TotalEnergies have recently developed five photovoltaic plants: Postigo (51 MW), Arbotante (52 MW), Pilastra (52 MW), La Noria (53 MW) and La Carrascosa (55 MW).

For TotalEnergies, ensuring that the development of its solar farms is fully compatible with the protection of biodiversity in the areas where they are located is a priority and a hallmark of its identity.

In recent years, FCC Industrial has built projects totalling more than 1.3 GW, consolidating its position as one of the leading companies in the construction of large renewable energy projects in Spain.
